In the world of collections, business comes
from many, many sources and often in a
variety of different formats. The ability to
timely and accurately transfer data to and
from your Clients is crucial for your
success and COGENT’s success.
Some Credit Grantors use the debt
industry standard interfaces to send new
placements and receive updates, while others
have selected proprietary or unique data
formats.
The challenge to the software integrator is
how to keep up with all the placement
formats so as to process all placement files
timely and accurately.
BSI provides a twofold solution.
1)
BSI has built interfaces for Import and Export of the most complicated interfaces used within
the debt-industry. These interfaces will be expanded as needed.
2)
BSI provides with COGENT (integrated within the COGENT Core product) what we call the
Do-It-Yourself Data Translator utility. This utility provides the COGENT Client the tools to
create and map their own interface templates without BSI assistance. This puts management
and control of most interfaces in the hands of our customers.
Finally,
BSI would like to suggest credit grantors
and debt buyers consider moving toward the
use of XML (Extensible Markup Language) as
an industry standard.
When working with different
platforms, often incompatible with one
another, and several database types, you
need a platform-independent way of
transferring information from one
application to another.
Extensible Markup Language is a flexible way
to create common information formats and
share both the format and the data on the
World Wide Web, intranets, servers,
mainframes, etc.
XML is a formal recommendation from
the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) similar
to the language of today's Web pages, the
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
BSI eSolutions would be available to
help with this effort including sharing our
XML data schemas.
